On a national level, the Super Chevy Show is celebrating their 30th year at MIR with partner TEN: The Enthusiast Network in 2016. The Outlaw Street Car Reunion, Professional Drag Racing Association (PDRA), IHRA Summit World Finals, Ford and Mopar Showdown, $25K Showdown, Great American Bracket Race, Manufacturer’s Cup, and much more will return to the multi-use facility.
New to the schedule this season is the Fortune Hunter Big Bucks Series, MOD Motor Mustangs, War on Wheels, and Truck Mania. MIR is in the process of finalizing an additional national event that will be announced at a later time.
“We couldn’t be more excited as to what the 2016 season is shaping up to be. We will have something for everyone,” stated Pam Kendrick, VP & GM of MIR. “Events will include the best door car racing in the country, to the most competitive series in the Mid-South. The events featuring jet cars and wheelstanders are always a fan favorite as well. There’s a lot of exciting things happening and we are looking forward to getting the season started.”
The 2016 schedule also includes three 5K running events that will take place in conjunction with on-track drag racing action and an Auto Enthusiast Buy – Sell – Trade Swap Meet. For those people looking for a NASCAR adventure, Rusty Wallace Racing Experience (RWRE) is onsite and offers a stock car driving experience at the .75-mile tri-oval. Once a month guests have a chance to ride or drive at MIR.
